The Voyage Guarantee

Airlines can't charge you for this. We guarantee it.

For decades, travelers have worn layers to the airport to dodge bag fees. We built the VoyageCoat around that idea, and we stand behind it.

We would not have built this if it did not work.

A year of research and design. Thousands of dollars in samples. A patent pending. Trademarks. None of that would exist if we were not confident you can wear this coat onto any commercial flight without paying a fee.

So we put our money behind it. If an airline makes you check the coat, charges you a fee for it, or denies you boarding because of it, you get a full refund. Every claim is verified before we approve it, which keeps the guarantee honest for everyone.

How it works.

If an airline forces you to remove the coat, pay to check it, or denies you boarding specifically because of the coat, we refund the full purchase price of the coat to the original card you paid with.

No store credit. No partial refund. The full amount back, once your claim is verified.

The guarantee is valid for 12 months from the date your coat is delivered. That covers a full year of travel, which is more than enough to know whether it works.

Once a claim is approved we email you a prepaid return label. Send the coat back and we issue the refund the day it arrives. We ask for the coat because the guarantee is a refund, not a free coat.

What we need from you.

All three items below are required. They must match each other and describe the same flight. A claim missing any item, or where the details do not line up, cannot be approved.

1. Video at the boarding gate

A clear, unedited video of the gate agent stating they are denying boarding, requiring you to check the coat, or charging a fee specifically because of the coat. The airline name and gate number must be visible. Video from a flight attendant in the cabin does not qualify, only the gate.

2. The receipt or check tag

If you were charged, a photo of the fee receipt showing the amount and airline. If you were forced to check the coat, a photo of the airline bag tag attached to it. This proves the incident happened on a real flight.

3. Your boarding pass and confirmation number

A photo of your boarding pass from that same flight showing the airline, flight number, date, and booking confirmation number. This lets us tie everything together and verify the flight.

Send all three to hello@voyagecoat.com with your order number in the subject line.

How we verify.

By submitting a claim, you authorize us to verify the incident and your flight details, including with the airline where possible, using the confirmation number and boarding pass you provide. We review the video, the documentation, and the flight details together.

If everything checks out, we approve the claim and refund right away, typically within 3 business days of verification. If the documentation is incomplete, does not match, or cannot be verified, the claim is denied.

Submitting edited, staged, or falsified documentation is fraud. It voids the guarantee permanently, forfeits any refund, and may be reported to the payment processor and the relevant authorities. Do not try it.

The fine print, said plainly.

The guarantee covers airline-imposed issues at the gate. It does not cover airport security, customs, or a crew member asking you to remove it for comfort in the cabin. It also does not cover cases where you tried to carry prohibited items inside the coat, such as oversized liquids or restricted batteries.

The coat must be worn as a coat when you board. If you convert it into the duffle bag and carry it, it becomes a bag, and airlines can charge for bags. Fees for the deployed duffle are not covered. The promise is that you can wear the coat onto the plane, not that you can carry it as luggage for free.

The coat also has to still work as a coat. You do not have to wear it zipped, but it has to be able to close, with the pockets fastened and nothing sticking out of it. If it is packed so full that it will not close, or so heavy that it is not safe to wear, that is past what it was built to do and that claim is not covered.

One claim per customer, per order. The refund covers the coat only. Travel costs, missed flights, and other expenses are not included, because those are not things we control.

The Voyage Guarantee is a separate promise offered by us and does not replace our standard refund policy or your rights under it. We may update these terms, and any order placed before a change is covered by the terms that were live on the date of purchase.
